After spending the late 90s helping to establish the roots of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the Antelope Valley, Dan Howard officially founded Antelope Valley Jiu Jitsu in 2002. Later in 2005 AVJJ moved to it's current location becoming the first independent BJJ academy in the AV. Since that time, countless students have come through the doors and spent time on the mats at AVJJ, but one thing has remained the same and that is AVJJ's commitment to fundamentally strong techniques that carry over to any situation in which they may need to be applied. Whether your goal is to compete in BJJ/Submission Grappling/MMA, protect yourself in self defense situations, or just have fun and get a good workout AVJJ has the coaching you need. Currently run by a group of Coach Dan's students AVJJ has a coaching staff with collective decades of mat experience and the ability to coach you to your full potential. At Antelope Valley Jiu Jitsu we’ve designed a number of classes for people at all levels. Pick and choose the classes that you like, when it best fits your schedule.
Adults
Monday: 7:00 - 8:00pm
Tuesday: 7:30 - 9:00pm
Wednesday: 7:30 - 9:00pm
Thursday: 7:30 - 9:00pm
Friday: Competition Classes As Needed

Kids

Dan Howard, Coach Dan to everyone at AVJJ, was many things to many people but to us here at AVJJ he was a larger than life figure. Though he is no longer with us, his vision and legacy carries on through his students and through the many hard training sessions we continue to have in his honor. We are proud to have been able to call him our coach and thankful to have been able to call him our friend.
